Drying Peppers Attempt #2
Sooo apparently I strung the peppers incorrectly on my first attempt 😅 I was supposed to go through the stem – in my defense, I originally tried to do that, but some of the peppers were mostly dried out so I wasn’t able to thread those and ended up doing all of them wrong lol. Hopefully second time is the charm!
Hardscape Planning
Found some great ghost wood pieces that I think would be great for the vivarium. I took awkward pictures of me holding each branch up (to test placement) then overlapped the photos and traced out the main shape they create together. Then sketched in the rest of the planned scape and plants I’m aiming for. I’m really happy with this plan and I’m excited to see how the final result will compare!
I’ve been learning so much over the last couple months and feeling a bit more confident each day that I can pull a project like this off. Unfortunately I’m having some trouble sourcing some materials that I need on a decent timeframe – it’s so difficult to find expanded cork that isn’t on preorder/backorder! I didn’t think that would be the most challenging part of this project.
Never been switched
The manufacturer ended up sending me a new board because of the rgb issues I was having. It was so confusing to see that there were no holes for the switches already- so I made the first punctures myself 😳
Puzzle Assist
My brother asked me to help him with this puzzle that he gave up on years ago. I finally finished it today- and totally understand why he stopped midway. It was a really challenging 1500 pieces. Framed it all nice for him and he’s really happy that he has a great piece to hang up on the wall.
In love
Went to my first reptile expo and got to finally see the Neon Day Gecko in person. I knew I thought they were so cute before- but I’m blown away by how they appear in person. Of course they didn’t look happy being in those little small containers, but their little mannerisms were so cool to see irl. Especially love how they are naturally curious and tilt their head to look up at you. It really took all my willpower to not be impulsive and buy a vivarium right then and there to take this lil guy home 😅 I can’t wait to get my viv set up and see them scurry around in their new home.
Drying Peppers
Last year I dried a bunch of longhorn peppers by lying them across my harvesting basket. This year I’m trying out hang drying Korean Chungyang chilis. The side that is mostly dried out were lying for a while- hope this works because it’d be nice to free up a basket 🤞
Troubleshooting

Been having issues with my keyboard’s rbg flashing randomly and I am unable to easily replicate the issue to record it in video. It’s been slowing driving me crazy 😅 Did another troubleshooting test with terminal to force the firmware update. Let’s see if this finally works.

Pokemon Go Fest
Enjoyed a hot summer’s day taking selfies with the legendary bird trio, accidentally standing in the wrong line to get a free enamel pin, and almost getting trapped in a parking lot elevator 😅. So glad my friend invited me out- it was a nice change of pace from the stressful few weeks leading up to this weekend.
I’ve never seen so many points of interest – or mewtwos – it was kinda overwhelming. So many poke stops to spin and yet soooo little item storage 😅 This game is so mean.
A feeling that stayed with me
A parent of an old friend passed away recently. I’ve been crying lot. I wasn’t very close to them, but in the few interactions I’ve had left a large impression on me growing up. What I witnessed in their demeanor, lifestyle, and family life had shown me something very different than I was used to. Shortly before they passed, my friend asked me to record a memory to listen to – I hope it conveyed my deepest gratitude and gave them peace knowing that their love and kindness reached beyond their own family.
Three Falcons
Lots of complicated feelings lately but very grateful that my husband is still here and recovering. Three falcons have been hanging around our house for a couple days now. Surprised they are coming up to the windows and look playful. It feels like a good sign – like they are watching over us.

After an unfortunate, unexpected (but statistically inevitable) visit to the ER this week, we’re finally back home. My husband is dealing with some built up pressure from all the medications so I came up with this soup that will hopefully help.
